About the event
Pinhole photography and other obsessions - (New light through an old hole)
In an hour Justin will journey through 2500 years of optical discovery from the use of the hole in perspective imaging through to the invention of the lens and the camera obscura to the invention of photography.
He will then show examples of contemporary pinhole photography both before and after the internet, showing examples of his own work which ranges from images taken from inside his mouth to 6 month duration exposures and images taken with a giant wheelie bin.
His 35 year career has taken him from Stonehenge to Hollywood as well as appearing on Blue Peter. One of his proudest achievements however was selling next doors wheelie bin (adapted into a pinhole camera) to the Royal Photography Society for £250.
